Is There a Difference Between CBD and CBG?
Cannabis is comprised of several compounds which contribute its chemical makeup. Evidence from a 2020 review study suggests that CBG is an effective therapeutic for neurological disorders such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBG make it a productive treatment for irritable bowel disease rather than the standard drugs such as amino salicylates, corticosteroids, thiopurines, methotrexate, and anti-tumor necrosis factor agents. While these drugs have historically been effective in treatment, they do not come without side-effects of long-term use which ultimately impact the patient’s quality of life.
